Perfect Day For A March

Just checked weather.com and Thursday's forecast looks great for the "Meet the Candidates" forum. I love Texas weather.

Apr 30 Thursday
Partly cloudy. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 60s.

  1. Is the Stop Morriss 6 group circulating a petition? And if so, will it do any good, oficially, I mean? Can a petition stop the Council from going forward with this plan? Also, I think we should put flyers out in the neighborhoods along Morriss so more people know about the meeting and the issue in general!

  2. I think the word is out. I have had several moms at the school complain that they are getting bombarded by the Morris 6 people and were getting a little sick of it. We may want to be careful and not overstep, it may have the adverse effect.

  4. Bombarded? If that is the case, I apologize, but those same moms with kids walking up and down Morriss, riding their bikes, trying to get to school and visiting friends in nearby neighborhoods should be most concerned about how difficult and unsafe that might become if faced with a 2499 look-a-like. Ask those moms if they would let their kids do that on 2499. Or if they are in favor it the project, tell them to let us know their views here in this forum.

  5. Unfortunately can't make the March. But will be voting for sure.

Place 1 is between Steve Lyda and Steve Dixon. Steve Lyda said he does not see a need for the expansion right now, and Steve Dixon would like more research done first.

Place 3 is between Bob Butler, Mike Wallace, and Claudio Forest. Bob Butler is definitely against the widening of Morriss. Claudio wants more research done first. Mike Wallace is definitely FOR the expansion and will be sure to get it done if elected once again.

Place 5 is between Angie Cox, Rick Cleland, and Tom Hayden. Tom Hayden and Rick Cleland are definitely against the widening of Morriss. Angie Cox would like more research done first.

    * If I'm mistaken on any candidates stance, please correct me.

VOTE VOTE VOTE. You know who to vote for now, so let's get it done. Voting is at the Police and Courts building on the corner of Kirkpatrick and Cross Timbers (same place as presidential election). Let's keep Flower Mound a town!

  6. Mike Wallace has never been elected only appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission. I guess this assumption comes with being the clear choice for the job.

  7. I was handed a fact sheet while dropping my son off at school the other day and THANK YOU! I appreciate the time and work going into this! Keep up the good work. I will be there and will be voting.
