Election Night Party

Saturday evening, May 9th, starting at 7pm, we are going to have a post election gathering at The Z Grill on 1171, next to Sprouts. Come and join us for what we hope will be a victory celebration. More details to follow, but mark it on your calendar. Vote, then party.

  1. I do know that this fight is not over and that the best thing we can do as residents is to vote. With 3 council seats open this election, we can make a difference. With a new council and new ideas, comes change and options. Please vote if you haven't already and encourage your neighbors to do the same. I did and it only takes 5 minutes. The next step after voting is to attend the public hearing on May 26th. This is where we can really make a difference. We can ask that Morriss be delayed until after phase 3 or 4 of Riverwalk is done, the completion of 2499, 1171 and 407 are complete. We can also request that a new traffic study and other options are looked at for designs on Morriss. (ex - longer turn lanes at intersections, better timers for signal lights and so on.) These things can be looked at instead of expanding all of Morriss from 4 to 6 lanes. If you haven't voted and don't know who to vote for, I would ask you to talk to the candidates directly. I can also tell you who I voted for and why. Please do not give up, we can
    make a change.

  2. Unfortunately we have to all leave at 12:45 so they can close down by 1:00. Maybe we should head to a Town that supports their businesses after that :)

  3. Who up for election is against widening Morris?? I drive Morris to work every day and I very much enjoy it's beauty. I'd hate to loose that. Steve N.

  4. Morriss Rd. is a great representation of nieghborhood and community. We would like to have the name changed to Morriss Blvd, it is a rare find to have such a beautiful street these days. These are the candidates that support our cause: LYDA, BUTLER, and HAYDEN. Thanks!

  5. Dixon, Cox and Forrest have also spoken favorably of our movement. I do have questions about Lyda- he sits on the Transportation Authority and has had the info about Morris at his disposal for a long time, is he suddenly against it? I think all but one candidate has shown support for our cause. I think we are lucky to have 7 of the 8 candidates in our corner.
