Kim & Holly Berg's Personal Endorsement.

In light of the fact of the agenda for tomorrow's Town Council meeting, it is more important than ever that we get the right candidates elected. Not only for the Morriss/Gerault expansion, but ALL of the issues that are best for ALL of the citizens of Flower Mound.

Since the next week could be very heated here on the blog, we have suspended the ability to post comments as

. If you have something to say about a candidate or a view that differs from mine and others here in the stopmorris6 group, I urge you to simply sign up with a google account. This doesn't mean you have to use your full name or disclose personal information, it just puts an identity to your thoughts. I am glad we chose to allow
anonymous
postings up to this point and we will resume that practice after the election is over.

Holly and I are endorsing Steve Lyda, Bob Butler, and Tom Hayden for Town Council for the reasons stated above. Please get out and vote monday for Lyda, Butler and Hayden.

  1. I second that endorsement. In my mind there are no better candidates that will preserve the interest of the residents and balance growth in this town.
I urge everyone that are against the Morriss Road expansion to take 5-10 minutes to go and vote. Early voting is available today and tomorrow and the final day is next Saturday. You better believe that our Mayor will ask to see the list of who voted in this election to verify if the StopMorris6 group are just a fad or if they really stepped up to the plate. We need to show the Mayor, the Town Council that we are concerned residents and we will stand up for a cause worth fighting.
I am proud to personally endorse Steve Lyda, Bob Butler and Tom Hayden. Make sure your voice is heard.

  4. Thanks for your endorsements. I voted for Dixon, Cox and Forrest. I just couldn't get comfortable with Hayden and Butler. I really feel they are pandering to our group to get votes, and I didn't feel they had much more to bring to the table other than to vote against widening Morris, which all but one candidate said they would do anyways. With so many more issues facing the town, I voted for people who could make judgments based on research and facts, not on re-electability.

  5. Motherof4,

I would like to say thank you for voting, it’s so important that everyone gets out there and voices their opinion by way of the ballot. I’m sorry that you saw me as a one issue candidate, but that has been the latest spin from my opponent and apparently it’s working. I want you to know that I didn’t start my campaign based on the Morriss Rd project, I was mad about the all of the construction going on in town. I’m tired of this Council voting to cut down all of our beautiful trees, just to build new office and retail space when we have plenty of vacant office and retail space available, it’s an eye sore on our Town. If you would please take a look at my website bobforflomo.com, the Morris Rd. issue is number 6 on the list of My Positions, hardly the reason I decided to run. I have not changed my website and moved the Morriss Rd. issue up to #1 on my list to pander to the people like others might do when there’s a hot button issue in an election. The Morris Rd campaign attracted me for several reasons and the first one is that it was grass roots and truly about the people. I drive Morriss Rd. everyday and can’t for the life of me figure out why this project needs to be done now or in the near future, there are too many variables to contend with. I only decided to run for Council 3 months ago, I am the epitome of grass roots and I feel at home with this group. The people that got involved with this movement took the time to learn about me, call me, and watch me in the debates and that’s why they support me. As I’ve said in another thread, at the Town Hall Forum a few weeks ago, the Morriss 6 project never even got brought up, yet I faired pretty well. I’m sorry I couldn’t earn your vote, but like I said in the beginning, thank you for being involved and getting out to the polls.

    Respectfully,

    Bob Butler
    Candidate – Place 3
