We made the Flower Mound Messenger!

  1. As one standing on the outside- unable to look in, my wife and I signed the petition and went home. (unfortunately I have a health condition that does not permit me to stand for to long at a time). I see this proposal as an outrage to the residents who live along Morriss. I left Richardson when they started building the George Bush across the street from my home. I moved to Plano. I was in a nice neighborhood with homes ranging from 2700 sq ft to over 4,000 sq ft. Then they started to build 1300 to 1800 sq ft. homes on the back of our addition. Then came a Super WalMart, and finally several apartment complexes across the street from us. You can imagine the traffic situation around our addition. We sold and moved to Flower Mound. We bought the particular house we did as it faces out onto Morriss. We loved the tasteful way the Town had designed Morriss. The expansive rolling street with the beautiful wide center medians. In the last couple of years it has become difficult and dangerous in the morning to get out of the addition. The thought of living in a house facing out onto a super highway is revolting. We protested the George Bush coming in across the street from our addition in Richardson- and lost. We protested the City of Plano issueing permits to build much smaller homes in our addition, and lost. We protested building a Super Walmart near our addition, and lost. It seems you can't fight progress and City Hall- even if it does cause your property to lose some of the reason you bought it and of course some of its value when you sell it. I fully support the effort to stop the action. I firmly believe we will lose. If we do we must demand a high rock or brick wall be built. And for those of us whose houses face Morriss- compensation.
